The atmosphere was so gleeful on the February, 27 2020 when the Oba Ewuare II foundation dance group came to the palace to appreciate His Royal Majesty for the fatherly role He played in supporting their choreography display during the National festival of arts and culture (NAFEST) which held in Benin.
The dance group performed an art dance drama about queen Idia the mother of Oba Esigie and how she followed her son Oba Esigie into battle and won. Never has this been done in history.
HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, OMO N’OBA N’EDO UKU AKPOLOKPOLOR, EWUARE II, the Oba of Benin, after praying for them and was very pleased with their performance during the festival announced to the leader of the dance group Dr. Mrs Abbe a lecturer at the University of Benin that He will be supporting the group with the sum of N1,000,000. The dance group leader Dr. Mrs Abbe and her group who couldn’t hide their joy chanted praises to His Royal Majesty with tears and a heart of joy they all came out to prostrate before His majesty in appreciation.
While they appreciated His Majesty for the unexpected cash price, His Royal Majesty then asked the group leader if she had any other request, she obliged and pleaded with the King to please give employment to Uche a student who just graduated from the university of Benin, from the faculty of arts who is the group’s dance lead; so that she is always available and around the kingdom whenever her dancing skills is required is needed, since she has been of vital contributions to the dance group.
His Royal Majesty granted her request and employed her under His foundation THE OBA EWUARE II FOUNDATION headed by Mrs Ifueko Aideyan Okoro as the executive secretary of the foundation.
Later on we had a chat with the Dr. Mrs Abbe the group leader and newly employed Uche they were so full of joy and prayed for His Majesty, saying they never expected the huge cash price and fatherly audience and prayers He gave them.
